Oshkosh

Your Vacation Destination

Oshkosh, centrally located on the western shore of Lake Winnebago, is just a few hours away from your hectic lifestyle. The 138,000-acre lake is perfect for fishing, boating or swimming on those great Wisconsin days. Not only is Oshkosh located on Lake Winnebago and the Fox River, but it’s also the proud host of several nation-wide events. Whether you’re looking for outdoor activities, aviation or music festivals, Oshkosh is your vacation destination. The City of Oshkosh owns and operates the Grand Opera House, a restored Victorian theater, built at the height of the lumber boom in 1883. Renovations have preserved many of the structure’s charming details like marble fireplaces and ceiling cherubs. These days, the opera house is known for its free summer movie series and for showing hard-to-find foreign films.
