Frank Lloyd Wright, widely recognized as the greatest architect of the 20th century, was born here in Richland Center and later lived only a few miles away in Spring Green. There he built Taliesin, his famed home, along with several other homes. He also built a unique warehouse in Richland Center that stands out as one of his early works and the only remaining structure of its kind. The architectural detail of the A.D. German Warehouse is highly reminiscent of a Mayan temple.
