Whatever the Season...

Ladysmith is located in Rusk County, Wisconsin. Picnic at Memorial Park or Falge Park in Ladysmith, or peruse the local produce and products offered for sale at the Farmers Market, open late Spring through early Fall. Rusk County also has two 9-hole golf courses; Tee-A-Way Golf and Supper Club in Ladysmith and Amacoy Golf course in Bruce. Both courses are public. They offer relaxing and challenging golf for the experienced and the beginning golfer.

Over three hundred miles of snowmobile trails cover Rusk County. The County trail forms a hub of the extensive Northwest Wisconsin Trail Network, and there's a complete trail map available at the Ladysmith Visitor Center. There are also our many hiking and biking opportunities. Christie Mountain, located high in the Blue Hills, offers an endless scenic view as well as skiing for every level of skiing preference and ability, and the highest vertical run in the north. Numerous groomed cross country ski trails can also be found throughout the area for any level of ability. The Blue Hills Trail Association holds the Blue Hills Accent annually in January.

The Ladysmith area has long been thought of as the Midwest mecca for the canoeing enthusiast. From the whitewater adventure of the Flambeau to the gentle ride and pristine beauty of the Chippewa, a canoe excursion can be found for all in the Rusk County area. Canoe and kayak rentals and shuttles can be obtained at the confluence of the Chippewa and Flambeau Rivers, along with other fishing and float trips down either river. The rivers, streams, and lakes are great for the first timer or the expert fisherman. Fine fishing for muskies, walleyes, northern pike, bass, pan fish and sturgeon is available. The county also has approximately 141 miles of trout steams. Trout are stocked yearly.

The Copper Park Equestrian Trails cover about 5 miles next to the Flambeau River, on land adjacent to the reclaimed Flambeau Mine Site, about 1.5 miles south of Ladysmith on Highway 27. Developed in partnership with the Flambeau Mining Company, the City of Ladysmith and the Flambeau Riders, these are the first public trails developed for equestrian use in Rusk County. Whatever the season: the fresh green of Spring, the full bloom of Summer, the gorgeous colors of Fall, or the tranquility of Winter, you will enjoy Ladysmith.
