West Bend

West Bend, nestled in the heart of the northern Kettle Moraine and conveniently linked to Milwaukee, offers residents and visitors an opportunity to participate in small town living and still enjoy the fast pace of a greater metropolitan area. It’s a prosperous Wisconsin community — clean, inviting, and full of people who still embrace some old traditions and welcome the challenge that rapid change and growth have brought to the area.

The West Bend Riverwalk currently runs a continuous 3.1 miles along the Milwaukee River, beginning at River Road and extending northwest to Roosevelt Drive. The Riverwalk, a project of the City of West Bend Park, Recreation & Forestry Department reflects a commitment to protect land along the Milwaukee River Corridor. The Riverwalk offers environments for people to walk, jog, bike, rollerblade, and in winter to snow-shoe and ski. Riverwalk also offers an opportunity to view the multitude of sculptures which, with the support of the West Bend Friends of Sculpture, Inc., dot the landscape along the corridor.

Wisconsin’s finest music festival, the Ziegler Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival features international jazz musicians and vocalists in an outdoor setting under a spacious tent surrounded by rolling hills and rustling trees. Established in 1961, the museum exhibits an extensive late 19th-century and early 20th-century collection of paintings and drawings, and holds 10-14 annual exhibitions. Local and regional exhibitions are curated by the staff. National touring exhibitions are borrowed from larger institutions. A broad spectrum of events complements the exhibitions and events throughout the year.
