We invite you to share these beautiful wooded lands and lakes. The headwaters of the mighty Wisconsin River as well as the Deerskin River start right here in Phelps, and other waters flow to Lake Michigan. Just two miles north, in the Ottawa National Forest in Upper Michigan, waters flow to Lake Superior. Our high elevation means clean water, clear air and an abundance of winter snow.
