The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is a sovereign nation. Sovereignty means having the right to make decisions and act accordingly, to exercise self-determination. In the case of the Indian Nations, sovereignty involves the dual aspects of identity as nations and jurisdictional authority over tribal lands.

The Lac du Flambeau Chamber of Commerce is located at 602 Peace Pipe Road in downtown Lac du Flambeau. It is approximately 1/2 mile from the Lake of the Torches Casino on on Highway 47. The Chamber is open 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, offering visitors and locals alike information about the area. We also have a 24-hour touch screen information computer in the Casino. There are also other information computers located throughout Vilas County and 11 other communities.
