Three Lakes, Wisconsin

We Have What You're Looking For

Boating at Three LakesThree Lakes, Wisconsin is a small community nestled in the midst of the Northwoods, and more specifically, the Nicolet National Forest. The Nicolet offers scenic bicycling, hiking, camping, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, and world class snowmobiling. One of the greatest vacation features is the largest freshwater Chain Of Lakes in the world. The "Chain" consists of 28 lakes, 20 of which are easily accessible from Three Lakes.

Successful Fishing TripFrom Three Lakes, boaters have access to these 20 lakes and another 8 in the Eagle River Chain - connected by the Burnt Rollways Boat Lift. These lakes have a surface area of 7,626 acres and all vary in size. Some lakes are secluded in the Nicolet National Forest, and offer everything from water sports to canoeing to solitude . . . with fishing in every nook and cranny! Every season presents its own unique recreational opportunities, and spectacular serene settings.

Harvesting CranberriesThe cranberry is well represented in Three Lakes with 5 marshes in the area. Native Americans used cranberries for food, medicine, and dye, as well as for bartering with early French voyagers in this area. Commercial production began over 100 years ago. With the unique way in which cranberries are grown and harvested, it is an interesting experience to attend Cranberry Fest in near-by Eagle River at fall harvest time. The weekend following Cranberry Fest is Pumpkin Fest in Three Lakes. The event features over 100 quality crafters indoors. Both events offer tours to the cranberry marsh in Three Lakes as well as to the Three Lakes Winery.

Snowmobiling in northern WisconsinThree Lakes offers some of the best Wisconsin snowmobiling you will ever experience. The trail system encompasses about 70 miles of state-funded trails and about 50 more miles of locally-funded trails. The trails extend in all directions and hook up to the major trails of the Northwoods. Downtown Three Lakes has a very old-fashioned yet warm appeal with antique looking lamp posts lining the streets. All the shopping and other amenities you could ever want or need can be found in our downtown area. If you have any questions when you arrive, just come into the Three Lakes Information Bureau. They are always willing to help! If you're looking for wild berries, historic memorabilia, a wine tasting fiesta, magnificent scenery and wildlife, or just rip-roaring entertainment, We Have What You're Looking For!
