Rice Lake, Wisconsin

Enjoy Our Hospitality

Rice Lake, WisconsinLocated in the beautiful Red Cedar River valley, the City of Rice Lake is the largest community in Barron County and serves as a center for commerce, manufacturing, health and educational services. Rice Lake was founded as a logging camp in the 1850s and continues to thrive today. A variety of recreation, from fishing and hiking to golfing and gaming, draws visitors to the town. A recreation of what life in this beautiful region was like during the logging era is displayed at the Pioneer Village Museum, just south of Rice Lake.

The Rice Lake area features fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, ATVing, camping, and much much more. Rice Lake is prime for recreation, with lakes for ice fishing or cross country skiing. There just isn't enough time in the fall to do everything that we want to do. There are area ski hills, snowshoeing and snowmobile trails and hiking trails...there is so much to do! We have everything from pristine lakes to waterslides; from nature trails and nature preserves to go-cart tracks; from a restored pioneer village to a modern shopping mall with everything you might need, including the latest in fashion. We have an excellent educational and health care system, and nature supplies us with some of the finest recreational opportunities. But best of all--and for those seeking peace and quiet--here is the place to come to where you can just relax and enjoy the silence.

Rice Lake, Wisconsin UW-Barron County is home to many cultural events including concerts performed by the Red Cedar Symphony Orchestra, Red Cedar Choir, Northwinds British Brass Band, and the Communiversity Band.
