 Like many other Wisconsin communities, Plymouth started as a stagecoach stop on a Native American trail and wilderness road from Sheboygan to the interior of the state.In 2002, Plymouth celebrated its 125th anniversary. Since Plymouth was founded, this diverse city has been enjoying growth and expansion. With that growth, time has aged what once was a delightfully new and developing place, but it has not taken away any of Plymouth's original beauty.
 Plymouth has the good fortune of being placed just east of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, offering visitors four seasons of great recreational opportunities. The Forest offers biking, hiking, camping, skiing, snowmobiling and a fabulous vista of fall colors. The forest includes 14,500 acres and has several challenging off-road mountain bike trails to challenge all levels of bikers. In addition to local favorite golf courses, Plymouth is within an easy drive to world-renowned golf courses such as Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits, home of the 2004 PGA Championship.
 Visit our Aquatic Center and enjoy water fun for the whole family. Gather your family and friends together for some old-fashioned winter fun at the Plymouth Mill Pond Skate Rink, located on the end of East Main Street. Admission is free so you can skate as often as you wish! A warming shelter sells snacks and hot drinks. The Plymouth Arts Foundation offers cultural activities including theatre, music, performance art, dance and more.
 Plymouth has the perfect dining settings for enjoying a simple lunch or indulging in an elegant dinner. If something sweet is in order, you can enjoy an ice cream cone or a root beer float at a drive-in. Relax with a cappuccino and a good book at a coffeehouse, or grab a brat, fresh off the grill, at a picnic. Throughout downtown Plymouth, visitors will find a historic setting full of quaint shops, with everything from antiques and used books to crafts and artwork. The gift shops offer just the right variety of coffees, cheeses, Asian imports, collectibles, prints and frames, as well as items for the home and garden.
