Grafton Wisconsin

City ParkGrafton offers a diverse array of stores, shops, restaurants and industrial enterprises along with a variety of recreational activities for the young and the young at heart. Whether it's canoeing on the Milwaukee River which flows invitingly through the heart of the Village, a visit to a family farm, biking, golfing or shopping in local antique stores, residents and visitors aren't at a loss for things to do. Events sure to please residents and visitors alike are the Grafton Downriver Canoe Race, Holidaze 4th of July Celebration and the regionally famous Grafton Christmas Parade.

Interurban TrailThe Ozaukee Interurban Trail is a 30-mile paved trail that spans the entire length of Ozaukee County. The majority of the Trail is off-road and perfect for family enjoyment. The Trail connects the Ozaukee communities of Mequon, Thiensville, Cedarburg, Grafton, Port Washington and Belgium. Unlike many recreational trails in the State of Wisconsin, use of the Ozaukee Interurban Trail is free for everyone. The trail is intended for year round uses, such as biking, in-line skating, walking, running and cross-country skiing. Motorized vehicles and horses are not allowed on the trail.

Paramount RecordsParamount Records was an American record label, best known for its recordings of African-American jazz and blues in the 1920s and early 1930s, including such artists as Ma Rainey and Blind Lemon Jefferson. Paramount Records was founded in the 1910s as a subsidiary of the Wisconsin Chair Company of Grafton, Wisconsin, Fred Dennett Key, director. The chair company had made some wooden phonograph cabinets by contract for Edison Records. Wisconsin Chair decided to start making its own line of phonographs with a subsidiary called the United Phonograph Corporation at the end of 1915. It made phonographs under the Vista brand name through the end of the decade; the line failed commercially..

Cross Country Skiing in GraftonGrafton continues to progress in harmony with its heritage. Its industries thrive, it is a community of well-kept homes on tree-lined streets; its facilities expand to meet its growing educational, business, religious and family needs. Grafton is great--for living, for working, for getting more out of life. With an excellent public school system and three parochial K-4 through 8th grade schools and close proximity to Milwaukee's post-secondary institutions; along with outstanding police, fire and emergency protection, Grafton is a great place for family, commercial and industrial growth!
