Old-Fashioned Scarecrow Contest in Solon Springs

NO FEE to enter! Scarecrows must be in place by October 14th and will voted on from October 15 through October 22 in three catagories: Children: Ages 10 and under, Children: Ages 11-16, Adults: Ages 16 and up. Prizes will be awarded at all levels. Voting will be by any visitor who stops by to view the scarecrows - they may cast their vote for their favorite in each of the age groups. Saturday October 21: Morning demonstrations and evening program open to the public. 4PM-5PM: A panel discussion and Q&A session with all the day's speakers. Also all day mushing workshops for novice to experienced mushers. Location: Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion in Bayfield. Sunday October 22: Dryland Training run north of Iron River, beginning with 7AM set up and instruction beginning at 8AM including dryland instruction, tips and equipment to try out. All sand trails with 1 to 7-mile dryland trail loops. Plenty of parking and help available.

4th Annual Commodore’s Ball in Manitowoc

The Commodore's Ball is an annual fundraiser for the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. The Ball is a fantastic evening of gourmet food and beverages, unique auction items, dancing and more. Halloween Candlelight Hike at Devil's Lake State Park

Walk an easy 1.5 mile candlelit trail along a paved path on the last weekend of October. The walk will begin at the Rock Elm Shelter at the North Shore parking lot. Enjoy the hike at your own pace. After the walk, there will be a warming bonfire, and lots of refreshments available for purchase. A Wisconsin State Park vehicle sticker is required to enter the park. Sponsored by the Friends of Devil's Lake State Park. Devil's Lake State Park, North Shore parking lot. Hike starts at 6:00PM and ends at 9:00PM.

Mauston Pumpkin Bash Festival in Mauston

Free Admission! Hours: Saturday, October 28 Open at 9am. Sunday, October 29: Open at 10am. There will be vendors, haunted hayrides, horseback riding, wagon rides, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, a corn maze, a hay maze, live country western musical entertainment, inflatable rides, pony rides, pumpkin bashing contest (catapult), a pumpkin pie bake-off, a pumpkin carving contest, a scarecrow stuffing contest, and food. Held at Red Ridge Ranch, W4881 Hwy 82, 2 miles east of Mauston.
