Ray Price is one of America's national treasures. His trademark velvety voice has remained remarkably unchanged throughout the years. Price was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996. Following the release of the studio album Time in 2002, he and Willie Nelson released a classic-country duet album, Run That By Me One More Time, in 2003. Ray continues to record and receive critical acclaim. Concert begins at 8PM.

Celebrating the start of the Northwoods' fall colors and the cranberry harvest season, the Cranberry Colorama features a Cranberry Cooking Contest, art & craft booths, free samples of cranberry products, free cranberry marsh shuttle bus tours, free fall color pontoon tours (weather permitting), nature activities and information, live music, Lioness bake sale, and the Taste of Harvest with food samples by area restaurants (11AM- 2PM). Maps and tour routes will be available for self guided fall color tours.

2006 Dog-O-Rama Day in Wisconsin Rapids |

Sunday October 1, 2006 is Dog-O-Rama day. It is a joint effort between the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre and the South Wood County Humane Society in conjunction with the Wisconsin Rapids Grand Affair. Join in on the fun games and awards (entry fee $1 per game or $5 for all). Have photos taken of you and your pet. While your dog gets pampered, why not pamper yourself with a massage? This event is being held at Veteran's Park from 10AM-3PM, and helps to support two great non-profit organizations.

14th Annual Danish Fall Festival |

Festivities include an old fashioned parade, Danish and American food and beverages, music by Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns (R&B,Funk&Soul), and the 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands. They are also celebrating the 100th anniversary of the boom of the local dairy industry. Local dairies will provide free samples and we will be selling their award winning cheeses at special festival only prices. Also: arts & crafts show, 5th Annual Chili Contest, kid games, petting zoo, historical museum tours, blacksmithing demonstration, and free carriage rides. 2nd Rainbow Casino Pumpkin Launch Competition |

The 2nd Annual "Cata-Pumpkin Launch" is bringing teams from across the country to compete for prizes and just plain bragging rights about who can launch a 10-pound pumpkin the furthest, by the use of catapult or trebuchet machines. The World Punkin Chunkin Association endorses the event and holds the World Championship each November. New this year is the air cannon division where compressed air is used to launch the pumpkins. One competitor at the 2005 World Championship launched a pumpkin 4,331 feet! Both divisions will be judged and cash prizes will be offered.

25th Annual Fall Heritage Festival in Mount Horeb |

Hundreds of fine artists and crafters line "The Trollway", Mount Horeb's historic Main Street, lined with life-sized mythical creatures. Experience their Norwegian heritage with a farmer's market, buggy rides, quilt show heritage demonstrations, and with the Sons of Norway Host Frokost, an authentic Norwegian Fall breakfast. Fair and festivities run from 9 to 5 on Saturday, and 10 to 4 on Sunday. Don't miss this fabulous fall event for the whole family.
