Nekoosa’s Giant Pumpkin Fest draws thousands of people from all over the midwest each year to enjoy a day of shopping, sightseeing, food, fun and family entertainment. Events include a GPC sanctioned Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off. Pumpkins can tip the scales from between 400 to 1,100 lbs. Giant Squash, Long Gourd,Tomato,Cantaloupe and Watermelon weigh off competitions are also held. Other activities include hundreds of crafts, flea market, farmers market, professional pumkin carver, antique tractors, kids games, car show and much more. Nearing the end of the day they celebrate the event with a traditional “Giant Pumpkin Drop.”

The Nekoosa Area is the all-season playground if you love the outdoors. Any time of year, visitors can take advantage of all that Central Wisconsin has to offer, in addition to the area’s parks, majestic woodlands, marshes and more. Our unique location at the center of several wildlife areas allows bird watchers to travel between different habitats and viewing areas with ease.
