Dunn County

Dunn County has 320 miles of snowmobile trails. The city of Menomonie annually hosts the WSA Pro-Ice Challenge on Lake Menomonie the first weekend of February. This exciting event takes place in Menominie where you can see the best snowmobilers in the world race at top speeds on the ice. Menomonie is the starting point for a beautiful 14-mile bike ride along the Red Cedar State Trail. This limestone-surfaced trail runs along the Red Cedar River from Menomonie to the Chippewa River, where it connects with the Chippewa River Trail. Keep watch for eagles, herons and other birds as you pass sandstone bluffs, prairies, wetlands and wooded areas. There are picnic areas along the trail, and a visitor’s center located along Highway 29 in Menomonie. The Menomonie area also offers miles of country roads fit for biking.
