From the wide waters of Lake Mendota, to the prairie wetland and woodland terrain of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. In a few cases we’ve tinkered a bit with nature’s designs. The result? Extensive nature trails, beautiful golf courses, scenic bike paths, and family friendly parks-from ice rinks and swimming pools to a specially designed skateboard park. At nearby Governor Nelson State Park, located on 10,000-acres along Lake Mendota, recreation and nature mingle within sight of the State Capitol. Trails and restored prairie and savanna beckon nature enthusiasts, and effigy mounds can be seen on the Woodland Trail.

Middleton’s attractions and events showcase the uniqueness of Middleton’s history, its people, and the businesses that make Middleton their home. The local parks, trails and recreational facilities also make Middleton a great place to play. The Capitol Ice Arenafeatures open skating on Friday nights, with a spectacular sound and light display.
