Oconto County

Located less than an hour north of Green Bay, Oconto County can provide world-class fishing for walleyes, smallmouth and largemouth bass, trout, salmon, and northern pike. In addition to fishing, any person who enjoys wildlife and the outdoors should visit the area and cruise some of the picturesque county roads. The Oconto River also provides plenty of opportunity for fun in the sun and water activities! You will find well maintained parks, playground facilities, and local area golf courses.

In Oconto County over 1,050 square miles of crisscrossed networks of trails are devoted to fun and recreation. Hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails will transport you to your vacation destination. Clearly marked and well groomed cross-country ski trails let you swoosh through the Nicolet National Forest and Machickanee County Forest. These trails provide an excellent path to adventure as summer biking and hiking trails. Well-organized local trail-use clubs take great pride in the maintenance and mapping of the trail systems.
