Saint Patrick’s Day Organ Concert presented by the American Guild of Organists – Milwaukee Chapter and All Saints’ Cathedral.
Ben Stone, Craig Sproat, and Nick Renkosik perform in a concert of organ music inspired by Irish and Gaelic melodies in the historic All Saints’ Cathedral at 818 E. Juneau Avenue in Milwaukee. Rob McWilliam, Bag Piper, will join Renkosik in performing arrangements from the Highland Cathedral Suite. A Saint Patrick’s Day reception is hosted after the concert by the Cathedral Hospitality Committee. The concert is open to the public, with a free-will offering. Parking is available at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church Lot, 1100 N. Astor Street, just one block east of the Cathedral.
All Saints’ Cathedral, a Historic Milwaukee Landmark Church, was designed by Edward Townsend Mix and erected in 1868-69. Architecturally, it is an excellent example of the Gothic Revival style.
All Saints’ Cathedral is a frequent venue for choral and instrumental music performances because of its outstanding acoustics and 45-rank pipe organ.
The Pepper-Graves Memorial Pipe Organ contains over 2,500 pipes operated by a three-manual console on a moveable platform for audience viewing. The Cathedral acoustics and pipe organ are among the finest in Milwaukee.
Dr. Benjamin Stone is the Director of Liturgy and Music and Assistant Professor of Sacred Music at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology in Hales Corners. Dr. J. Craig Sproat is the Assistant Professor of Organ and Director of the Church Music Program at Concordia University Wisconsin. Sproat serves as Kantor at Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood. Nick Renkosik is a classical and theatre organist who regularly performs nationally for the American Theatre Organ Society, Organ Historical Society, and American Guild of Organists concerts.
