Lynn R. Peters is executive director of the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Bureau is an economic development organization focused on tourism marketing and sales for eighteen communities in Northeastern Wisconsin. She is also the Chair of the Wisconsin Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (WACVB). The WACVB represents Wisconsin's top destination marketing organizations and initiates cooperative ventures that enhance the state's tourism industry.
Lynn has been a WACVB Board member for seven years. She has served as chair of the Education Team, Secretary and Vice-chair where she spearheaded several legislative initiatives relevant to the tourism industry.
This spring, Lynn has really been thrown to the Lions…the Lions of the Fox Valley. In preparation for the Wisconsin premeire of Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, more than 50 lion statues painted by local artists have been placed throughout the Fox Cities. The lions will be on display until the end of July when they will be auctioned off as a fund-raiser for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center’s educational programming. Visitors are encouraged to come to the Fox Cities for a lion hunt photo safari and find every statue. More information can be found here.
