The Hideout is recommended by AAA as a place of exceptional interest in northern Wisconsin.
Closed and tightly guarded by imported gangland
guns since it was carved from the stately pine and hardwood forest in the early
1920's, this scenic northwoods retreat of Chicago's most notorious gangster
of the Roaring 20's now reveals its secrets to the public.
Built on a hill overlooking a beautiful small lake, and constructed of native stone, the
buildings are a tribute
to craftsmen of yesteryear.
By taking a guided tour, you will see the gang chief's main lodge with its massive,
hand-cut native stone fireplace, unique spiral staircases custom made in Chicago and many
of the original furnishings. Also see the Gun Tower, where guards with machine guns were
on duty whenever the "Boss" was visiting; the Bunk House; Jail Cell; and our
newest Museum building of the Roaring 20's!
Appealing to every taste, our menu includes USDA choice char-broiled steaks, chicken, chops, seafoods, our own Italian specialties and our superb Prime Rib served every day.

Also: Don't forget our Friday night fish specials, all complemented by the
Hideout's unique and relaxed atmosphere.
Charter Bus Rates Available.
During the years
of Prohibition, the demand for liquor was at its peak, yet the Gatsby style
and the Garbo mystique are as alive today as they were in the Roaring 20's and
Vampish 30's. Bee's Knees, Bizzy Izzy and Mary Pickford are some of the most
popular drinks that capture the spirit of those devil-may-care days.
