May 5 - May 5 West Bend - Meet Helen Keller at Living History Encampment. A special visit from Helen Keller, portrayed by Jessica Michna. Helen will reminisce about her life and give you an insight into her struggles and triumphs. Also, visit with a blacksmith, learn about the daily activities of women on the frontier and compare it with life today. May 10 - May 10 West Bend - The Native Gardner: Ho Chunk Corn Workshop. Join Rhonda Funmaker, Ho Chunk Bear Clan member in a hands on workshop at the Washington County Historical Society from 6:30PM to 8:30PM to learn about traditional methods and the significance of corn to the Ho Chunk people. Taste of traditional corn pudding and hear about dishes made with corn and grind a sample of your own to take home! Registration is required for this program as space is limited.
