Nov 28 - Nov 28 Plymouth - Holiday Gathering.
Participating businesses will begin their sales and holiday refreshments 10AM-7PM, with the annual Christmas Parade beginning at 7PM, winding down Mill Street in downtown Plymouth. Annual chili cookoff, pitting participating businesses' favorite chilies against each other, is held 4-7PM. The winner is chosen by shoppers, who are invited to taste-test and purchase the various chili samples. Downtown. For more information call (888) 693-8263.
Dec 12 - Dec 14 Plymouth - Santa's Steam Train Special. In December 2007, over 500 children were able to visit with Santa on the caboose of the train, and 5000+ people took in the sights, sounds and smells of an authentic steam engine train. As an added bonus, visitors were able to watch as 13 tons of coal and 8,000 gallons of water were loaded into the engine as it refueled for its departure. Santa will again visit with a limited number of children(exact number to be announced later). Train will arrive Fri evening, stay all day Sat, and leave Sun afternoon. Call for exact times. Dec 31 - Dec 31 Plymouth - 2nd Annual New Year's Eve Cheese Drop. New Year's Eve party! The highlight of the evening will be the "cheese drop", taking place in the parking lot of the Plymouth Family Restaurant (right next door to the Arts Center). The "Big Cheese" will drop exactly at midnight! The public is invited to watch - admission to the Cheese Drop is free, and complimentary refreshments will be served. 520 East Mill Street.
