The OmniCenter, located in the center of Van Riper Park, consists of a 28,000 square foot arena that can be divided to support smaller events, a 2,000 square foot conference room, full kitchen facilities, and a large outdoor picnic shelter. The facilities are handicapped accessible with convenient free parking located directly adjacent to the building.

Onalaska is a paddler’s paradise. Sitting at the meeting place of the Black River and the Mississippi River and surrounded by protected wilderness areas, it’s one of the finest paddling destinations in the region. Canoeing and kayaking are the very best ways to view the area’s wetlands and enjoy the scenery of the bluffs and winding backwaters. One of the highlights of paddling in Onalaska is a set of canoe trails and numerous canoe launching points.

Onalaska offers more than 20 parks, offering everything from athletic courts and swimming pools, to walking trails, picnic areas and shelters. In the winter, you’ll find lighted sledding hills, as well as ice skating and hockey rinks. A number of swimming pools and aquatic centers serve Onalaska residents and visitors. Aquatic centers in Onalaska and Holmen offer large pools and waterslides. The YMCA in Onalaska offers year-round swimming. And West Salem is home to the Swarthout Pool, located next to West Salem High School.
