2008 Events - Sep 12 - Sep 14 Cable - Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival Bike Race.
Friday warm-up event, pasta feast, product displays, award presentations, hundreds of miles of bike trails. Saturday is race day, Sunday is fun day. The Chequamegon 40 is a 40 mile (mass start) with 1,700 participants. Short and Fat is a 16-mile (mass start). Telemark Resort, 42225 Telemark Road. For more information call (877) 798-4718.

Sep 19 - Sep 21 Cable - DGTV Fall Open at Telemark. Disc golf is a lot like traditional "ball" golf, except players use specially made plastic flying discs instead of balls and clubs, and throw them for 'par' at an above-ground target instead of a hole in the ground. Sep 20 - Sep 20 Cable - American Birkebeiner Trail Run and Relay. A 26.2-mile Marathon Relay, an individual 13.1-mile Half Marathon, and a 5K Fun Run on the hilly Birkie Trail at one of the most beautiful times of the year in the Cable-Hayward area. Sep 26 - Sep 27 Cable - Cable Area Fall Fest. Friday - Store's sidewalk sales. Friday Night - Pumpkin dessert contest, live music, authentic corn & fish boil and fireworks. Saturday - Arts, crafts, food, corn maze, live music, pumpkin pecan pancake breakfast, wine & cheese tasting, car/truck show, hay wagon rides, chili cook-off, kid's activities, farmers' market and much more.
