Weggy Winery Rockin' Grape Stomp |

Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3rd for the first annual "Grape Stomp" at Weggy Winery. Wash up those bare feet, they'll be asking for folks to actually stomp grapes! In fact, you can form your own Grape-Stompin' Teams and call to register them at (608) 647-6600. Also grape-stompin' for kids. Enjoy rock 'n roll from Madison band Flip City Live starting at 1PM. There will be lots of food, and of course wine, to purchase. The Winery will be open at 10AM as well. Weggy Winery, 30940 Oak Ridge Road, Muscoda, WI 53573.

Crex Meadows: Fall Wildlife Festival |

October 03rd, 2009 Grantsburg
Free 90 minute bus tours of the magnificent Crex Meadows Wildlife Area depart every 2 hours starting at 1PM. Again this year is a special, extra long, three hour bus tour leaving at 10AM and a one hour sunrise tour for Sandhill Crane viewing at 7AM. A variety of wildlife related programs and activities, including a presentation with live birds, and programs on wild-edible plants, wildflowers, and mushrooms are held throughout the day. The Friends of Crex food stand will offer brats, burgers, beverages, and a variety of snacks. 102 East Crex Avenue.

Downtown Poker Walk & Scarecrow Contest |

Start your October with a SCARE! Come join in at Downtown Portage for a Scarecrow Contest, during the Fall Festival.
Scarecrow contest is from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
As you enjoy the Downtown area, take part in the Poker Walk. Just visit various downtown businesses, draw a card, and build a winning hand with the cards you collect. Great fun and great prizes!

A celebration of Fall color with fun on the Courthouse lawn, fine arts, Treasures Music, a pig roast in the downtown, Red Door Gallery Open House & Wine Tasting, bed races, horseshoe tournament, Sheepdog demonstrations at Littledale Farms, the Canyon of Lights illuminated parade, Star gazing through telescopes at the Brewer Library, Polka Band with Richie Yurkovich at the Middle School, and lots more. 40th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend |

It has become the most popular short track asphalt racing event in the Midwest - 16 divisions over four days. The American Speed Association Midwest Tour, the ASA Late Model North Series, the Big-8 Late Models, Mid-American Stock Car Series and USST Super Trucks will each decide their 2009 champions at Fest, along with the best weekly competitors in Area Sportsmen, La Crosse Late Models, La Crosse Sportsmen, Super Sportsmen, Modifieds, R.A.Y.S., Thunderstox, Enduro, Vintage, Hornets, and Bandits. A weekend of music and running. Join in and run a beautiful marathon course that begins in Iron River, Wisconsin and finishes in Ashland, Wisconsin on Lake Superior's south shore. This fall marathon offers you spectacular fall colors, friendly aid stations and the best in pre-and post-race blues music. It's easy to see why the WhistleStop is the Upper Midwest's fall classic. Barktoberfest is a free & fun canine festival & party for you and your dog(s).
