Platteville - 12th Annual Historic Re-enactment

Plattevillle Re-enactment

September 11th thru 13th, 2009 Platteville
Held in Platteville's Mound View Park. Every year thousands come from miles around to watch demonstrations and learn about local history. Artisans demonstrate numerous skills, including flintknapping, silversmithing, candlemaking, spinning and dyeing, fingerweaving, blacksmithing, white metalwork, woodworking, cooperage and more. Old-time music, food, kettle korn, and merchants' wares are available throughout the Encampment. This exciting event coincides with Platteville's "Dairy Days" festival.

Ford Ironman Wisconsin 2009

Cheer on more than 2,000 athletes as they swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles. Don't miss it as the competition begins at 7AM at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center and concludes at Midnight around the Capitol Square. Need a bite to eat? Check out the Race Day Cafe at all of our events. It is always located near the transition area and the Ford Ironman Marketplace. 29th Annual Tomahawk Fall Motorcycle Ride

Tomahawk Fall Ride

September 17th thru 20th, 2009 Tomahawk
The 29th Annual Tomahawk Fall Ride brings in more than 40,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and others to the area each September. The event not only brings in entertainment (this year's headliner is Edgar Winter!) and the newest motorcycles and accessories from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, but it also raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). In fact, the Tomahawk Fall Ride is the largest local fund raiser for MDA in North Central Wisconsin. A huge event for a great cause! Downtown.

Wo-Zha-Wa Days Fall Festival

Wo-Zha-Wa Days

September 18th thru 20nd, 2009 Wisconsin Dells
A festive celebration of autumn, Wo-Zha-Wa Days Fall Festival is filled with free family activities, including an arts and crafts fair (Fri 12-5PM, Sat 9AM-5PM, Sun 9AM-3:30PM), antique flea market (Fri & Sat 7AM-7PM), Maxwell Street Days (Fri & Sat 7AM-5PM), live entertainment and a spectacular 100-unit parade on Sunday (1:30PM). Visitors are also invited to participate in a street carnival with refreshment concessions and the Wo-Zha-Wa Run. All activities take place throughout downtown Wisconsin Dells and Bowman Park.

Project ReDirectory Outdated Phone Book Collection

The Paper Discovery Center offers free admission to each family that brings in an outdated phone book for recycling on Saturday, September 19th from 10AM - 4PM. This Project ReDirectory is sponsored by AT&T Real Yellow Pages, Recycle More WI, and Outagamie County Recycling. Learn more about recycling from presentations and displays! Have fun making recycled art using old phone books! Make a sheet of paper by recycling the yellow pages! First 100 visitors get free t-shirts and other giveaways. Paper Discovery Center, 425 W. Enjoy a bicycle ride through the Driftless landscapes of Crawford County. Routes take you through the Kickapoo countryside - with ridge views and river valleys that will take your breath away. The event features 20 - 80 mile routes along rural roads (some gravel) for both beginners and experts. Dinner on Saturday night features locally produced foods. $35 registration fee includes dinner, t-shirt, and gift bag. 9AM mass start. Downtown.
