Wild West Days, held the 3rd weekend of August, is the time of the year that Viroqua folks and visitors from afar commemorate and celebrate the era when Western Wisconsin was the "Wild West". Start your weekend out with a all horse drawn parade on Friday night. Hog Wrassling, old boom town with stage coach rides, craft booths, a real buffalo and rodeo. Watch a gunfight on the main street. August 21st & 22nd, 2009 Superior
The largest dragon boat festival in the country with 100 international teams expected to compete. The drummer pounds a beat as the 20 paddlers propel the multicolored boat toward the finish line four hundred meters away. Each team is a maximum of 25 members, which includes 1 Team Manager, 1 Drummer, 1 Steersperson, 20 paddlers, and 2 alternates. Friday night entertainment: 6:30PM Brandon Scott Sellner & 9PM the Lamont Cranston Blues Band. Food and beverage vendors, arts and crafts fair, entertainment Saturday throughout the day.
