Stuff more fun into your fall weekend by celebrating the 11th Annual Autumn Harvest Fest. Activities include scarecrow stuffing, pumpkin decorating, an arts & crafts marketplace with over 50 vendors, farmer's market, hay and pony rides, live entertainment, Wisconsin Dells On Tap microbrew tasting and more. Wisconsin Dells Festivals Site. New for 2008! The 1st Annual Harvest Fest Pie Contest has a twist - the main ingredient of the filling has to come from Wisconsin. Enter on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 10AM to Noon with your best pie offering.

A community wide festival focused on the outdoors and the river way. Enjoy Big Top Chautauqua at Lakefront Park for a free evening concert on Thursday, October 16. The Blue Canvas Orchestra led by Warren Nelson will perform Wild Woods & Waters - A Celebration of the St. Croix River. It includes a wide range of original bluegrass & folk music and a large screen slide show as the backdrop for nine musicians. Friday evening is highlighted by Taste of Hudson along with a selection of wines and craft beers from the region. Saturday features a Catch & Release fishing tournament, boat show & marketplace, childrens' activity area, a lumberjack show and live music.

Big Top Chautauqua's 30th Star - Wisconsin's Heritage |

Big Top Chautauqua's 30th Star is a songwitness account celebrating 150 years of Wisconsin statehood. The show recalls the era when immigrant families searched for opportunity in the Wisconsin wilds. Audience members will also hear voyageurs who witnessed the transformation of this land and much more. These tales are told through songs, storytelling, and hundreds of historic photographs drawn from archives and collections across the state. Performed at Heider Center for the Arts, 405 E. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest AT UW-Richland |

Andrew Sharp, who has previously directed several UW-Richland Theatre productions, is directing this stage adaptation by Dale Wasserman of the bestselling 1962 novel by Ken Kesey. A 1975 film by the same title was based on the novel. Set in an asylum, the play looks at mental health/mental illness and the culture of such institutions. Authority, control and power are among the themes, as is the healing power of laughter. The story centers on the relationship between patient Randle McMurphy, a rebel, and Nurse Ratched, who rules the ward.

Dirty Dog Dryland Derby |

October 25th & 26th, 2008 Antigo
Dryland events are the fastest growing segment of dog-powered sports. They are environmentally low impact family oriented activities with trained sled dogs. This is the third year for the Derby, and the site for the race is the Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Boy Scout Camp’s wide grass covered trails near Pearson, WI. Catagories: Canicross, Jr. Canicross, 1-dog bikejor, Junior wheeled, 2-dog bikejor, 1 to 2-dog scooter & 6-dog Rig. 1.5 & 2.7 mile courses. In 2007 the DDDD was the largest dryland event in North America. Races start at 9AM. Free admission and plenty of parking. West 6500 Spring Lake Road, Pearson, WI.
