Wo Zha Wa Festival

All of downtown Wisconsin Dells marks the end of the summer with this huge festival named for the Ho-Chunk phrase meaning "to have fun." A festive celebration of autumn, Wo-Zha-Wa Days is filled with free family activities, including an arts and crafts fair, antique flea market, food vendors, Maxwell Street Days, live entertainment and other street festivities culminate with the Wo-Zha-Wa Parade, one of Wisconsin's largest, on Sunday afternoon. Visitors are also invited to participate in a street carnival with refreshment concessions and the Wo-Zha-Wa Run. Downtown and Bowman Park.

 

McDougall's Dream - fundraiser for SS Meteor

A buffet dinner and silent auction aboard the world's last remaining whaleback freighter, the SS Meteor. Owned by the City of Superior and operated by Superior Public Museums as a ship museum, she rests just blocks away from her original launch site. Proceeds help to restore and preserve the S S Meteor and the legacy of Captain Alexander McDougall. Gourmet Buffet prepared by the Boathouse Restaurant. Music, entertainment, cash bar, and a Silent Auction. S S Meteor Maritime Museum, Marina Drive. Admission charged, advance reservations only. 5PM to 8PM(Optional Tour of the Meteor - 4:30PM).

Corky Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world's great blues harmonica masters. And when Randy Sabien picks up his violin, get ready! Together, their swingin’ sound will have you bobbing your head, tapping your toes, and dancing right out of your chair. In addition, both will be leading free public workshops at the Schauer Center. Randy will teach a String Improvisation Workshop on Friday, September 12 from 4:30 to 5:45PM, open to string players of all ages and abilities. Corky will conduct a session on "Music and the Joy of Diversity" on Thursday, September 11 from 7 to 8PM, exploring music as a universal language. 26th Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival Bike Race

Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

The Chequamegon 40 is a point-to-point off-road(mass start) race with 1,700 participants, from downtown Hayward, WI, over the famed American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, forest roads and snowmobile trails to the finish in Cable, WI. Short and Fat(16 miles, mass start) is the perfect introductory event for new riders, younger riders, or for those not ready to tackle the longer race. Starting in Cable, WI on Saturday, it utilizes forest roads, the Birke Ski Trail and other back wood's paths on the way to the finish line(800 participants). Sunday is fun day. Back in 1914, the concept of Cheese Days originated from the notion that if some little town in Illinois could have a festival commemorating sauerkraut, then a celebration based on cheese would be an even better idea. Enjoy cheese tasting and cooking demonstrations, live music, Swiss cuisine, a cow milking contest, and The Swiss Colony Cheese Days Parade at the oldest and largest food fest in the Midwest. Also plan to visit the 19th Annual Cheese Days Arts And Crafts Show. Courthouse Square in Downtown Monroe.

The 11th Annual Berghoff & Blues Festival, presented by the Monroe Lions Club. Some of the finest blues music in the midwest from 11AM-9PM. Food and beverages on the grounds amidst the melodious sound of harp, slide guitar, and great beer! Bring your chair and/or blanket to spend the day. 9th Annual Maywood Earth Ride

A full-service bicycle tour in the fall beauty of the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. Breakfast & lunch, rest stops, sag support, door prizes, and a free massage after the ride. The routes showcase some of Sheboygan County’s most beautiful and memorable areas. The 100-mile Century and the 65-mile Metric Century pass through beautiful stretches of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The 50-mile and 25-mile routes provide views of rolling hills, farmland, and forests. The 12-mile route provides a few rolling hills and some fun-filled rest stops.
