Wisconsin's largest display of early American steam-powered and gas-powered equipment. Food, flea market, arts & crafts, and entertainment. This year's theme is "Endless Tracks." Many manufacturers of farm and construction equipment offered machinery that ran on tracks instead of wheels, and the BS&G Club will take a closer look at these unique machines and learn how they laid endless tracks. All aboard for a trip back in time to an era when trains provided the main source of transportation for both people and goods. The day will feature activities and displays related to railroading. Visit the Stonefield depot, hop up into the Stonefield caboose, view model railroading trains, and stop by the "End of the Line" hobo camp, where samples of mulligan stew will be available. Historic games 11AM & 2PM, Carriage rides for children 11AM–3PM, Nelson Dewey House tours 11AM–3PM, Sheep shearing demonstration noon & 2PM. Exhibits at various locations all day both days. Choice Bank Block Party & Anniversary Celebration. Free Community Event complete with food, activities & door prizes! The 3 days of fun include a parade, bake sale, tractor pulls, lots of good eating, music & dancing, contests for both big and little kids, games, craft & flea market, parade & of course the infamous Chicken Drop Contest! The largest dragon boat festival in the country with more than 100 international teams expected to compete. The drummer pounds a beat as the 20 paddlers propel the multicolored boat toward the finish line four hundred meters away. Each team is a maximum of 25 members, which includes 1 Team Manager, 1 Drummer, 1 Steersperson, 20 paddlers, and 2 alternates. Two great events in Richland Center! The Fun Run/Walk(Saturday the 23rd) benefits children enrolled in fitness, swimming & membership programs. August 23rd & 24th, 2008 in Tigerton in Shawano County
A family weekend that features a lumberjack contest, cow chip bingo and many kids' games hosted by area non-profit groups. A free corn roast, music & bike give-away on Saturday. The large parade will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1PM, with the lumberjack contests and more live music to follow. Bingo is played and a raffle is held with the top prize of $1,000. Plenty of cold beer and soda are always available. Local church groups provide food and homemade pies. All funds go towards Tigerton area projects. Tigerton Community Park.
