Weekend of June 14th and 15th, 2008 Bayfield
History comes to life with the traditional Blessing Ceremony on Sunday at 12:00 PM (Noon): commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion and transportation craft, and rowboats parade through Bayfield's City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior. Throughout the weekend residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a celebration of Bayfield's maritime culture, from past to present. A special Blessing of the Fleet chamber music concert will be performed on Saturday evening at Christ Episcopal Church.

Prairie Villa Rendezvous |

June 12th thru 15th, 2008 in Prairie du Chien
Rendezvous with history and learn about life during the fur trading days! With more than 600 lodges and teepees, this is one of the largest Midwest trading rendezvous. This annual Rendezvous includes a black powder shoot, primitive bow shoot, primitive cooking contest and more. Re-enactment participants from all over the country come to display furs, demonstrate period tools, and guns, and prepare foods common in that era. Workshops on basket weaving, bead-working, and plants and medicines offer visitors insight into the lifestyles of the time period.Thur & Fri 9AM-9PM, Sat 9AM-4PM. St. Feriole Island.

Base Ball History Day at Old World Wisconsiner |

Watch an old-fashioned game of Base Ball (yes, it was originally two words!) as Old World Wisconsin's 1860s vintage team, the Eagle Diamonds, faces off against the Milwaukee Cream Citys Club. Have a hotdog and root for your favorite team! Inspired by a local team organized in 1868, the Diamonds' uniforms, equipment and rules are the same as those of that time. Admission to Old World Wisconsin allows visitors to see the Diamonds' home games for free. Spend the rest of the day exploring Old World's many historic gems. S103 W37890 Highway 67. Cranberry Blossom Festival |

Friday morning: the June CranDairy Breakfast at Lincoln High School. Arts, crafts and cranberry products available Saturday at Robinson Park along with family-friendly activities, live music and plenty of cranberry treats. Downtown Wisconsin Rapids hosts world class blues musicians Cadillac Pete and the Heat, Studebaker John, and James Solberg Saturday night. One of northern Wisconsin's largest ethnic festivals. The event includes a Lidice Memorial Service on Friday, June 20 at 7PM, and runs through the weekend. Sat & Sun - arts & crafts fair, ethnic food, kolachy baking contest, pork & sauerkraut dinner (Sun at 11AM), exhibits, squeeze box jamboree, live music & dancing, Polka Mass on Saturday, Antique Farm Equipment and Fun-Fun-Fun.
