| Wisconsin State Parks Open House Day!
On State Park Open House Day, no admission stickers are required on vehicles entering state parks, forests and recreation areas, and trail passes are not required for bicyclists, in-line skaters, or horseback riders using state trails. This event coincides with Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin, so no fishing license is required at the many lakes and rivers located in state parks and forests. Sunday June 08 only - parks open 6AM-11PM all Around Wisconsin!

Plein Air Painting Event and Competitioner |

June 6th thru 14th, 2008 Beloit
This event is centered around painting "en plein air," or in the outdoors, specifically the scenic Rock River and the City of Beloit. This event will draw a regional group of talent and provide a wonderful backdrop for spring/early summer getaway for artists and art-appreciators alike. The event is open to the public, providing they have their own supplies and register ahead of time for the event. Registration is also open for two workshops leading up to the event, on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. The workshop on May 17 will be specifically targeted toward teen painters who wish to broaden their knowledge and talents.

Weekend of June 14th and 15th, 2008 Bayfield
History comes to life with the traditional Blessing Ceremony on Sunday at 12:00 PM (Noon): commercial fishing boats, tugs, powerboats, sailboats, excursion and transportation craft, and rowboats parade through Bayfield's City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior. Throughout the weekend residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a celebration of Bayfield's maritime culture, from past to present. A special Blessing of the Fleet chamber music concert will be performed on Saturday evening at Christ Episcopal Church.
