In honor of his many contributions to Wisconsin, a 2007 law names the Wisconsin State Trail System the "Aldo Leopold Legacy Trail System." Totaling more than 1,700 miles, Wisconsin's 42 state trails have a variety of surfaces, open to a wide-variety of activities. A ribbon cutting and open house will take place at the Sparta Chamber Depot at noon on May 1st. The Chamber office - in a restored Northwestern Railroad Depot built in 1903 - serves as an information and welcome center for visitors and the thousands of bicyclists that ride the State Trails. 111 Milwaukee Street.

Cinco de Mayo is an important date in Mexican history. On May 5, 1862, in the village of Puebla, the villagers and the Mexican army, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated the French army. Two Stages: An Entertainment Stage featuring Mexican Music & Dance, as well as a Children's Stage. Mexican food, carnival rides, children's area with games, piñatas and face painting, El Mercadito with merchandise vendors, Passport Fair, Child ID Kits, Survive Alive Fire House, community resources booths and much more. Trempealeau - Reggae Festivalr

As part of its Stars Under the Stars Series, the Trempealeau Hotel starts its season with this annual event. Three great Reggae bands perform: 2-5PM: Tony Brown & The Landing Crew, 5-8PM: Indika, and from 8-11PM enjoy the International Reggae All-Stars. Outdoor food stands serve Jamaican cuisine as well as their famous walnut burger. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music in this unique riverside concert area. Event starts at 2:00PM and ends at 11:00PM. Historic Trempealeau Hotel, 150 Main Street.

Door County YMCA's 15th Annual Blossom Run

The Door County YMCA presents the 15th Annual Blossom Fun Run, held at the Boat Launch Park in Egg Harbor. All ages are encouraged to participate. 2 & 5 mile races will begin promptly at 8:30AM, 1 mile youth race at 9:30AM. Awards ceremony around 10:15AM. Door Prizes awarded, a T-shirt to each participant (with entry fee), and medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places by age group. Also awards for top finishers in each category. The Youth Run for kids is a non-competitive 1 mile run for kids ages 12 & under. Registration from 7-8AM.

Headquartered at Eagle River Chamber office and held on a course starting from the woodland background of Boulder Junction, meandering through the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest and past scenic lakes and finishing at Riverview Park in Eagle River. USAT&F-certified. Events include full marathon, half marathon, power walk, 5K and fun run for kids 12 and under. Race Registration/Packet pick up is Friday from 5-9PM during an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner. Post-race celebration includes relaxation, hot buffet dinner, live music and much more.

This year's Brew Fest anticipates attracting 1,200 beer enthusiasts from all over Wisconsin and out-of-state, and hopes to feature at least 120 beers by 40 brewers. Sample local and regional brewers, a variety of beers, great food, Favorite Beer Award and live music. Music Entertainment by Queenie & the Blue Cats and Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo. Sponsored by the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce. A portion of proceeds benefit downtown road construction communications project. Event starts at 1:00PM and ends at 6:00PM.
