Winterfest in Green Lake |

February 8th thru 9th, 2008 Green Lake
This Winterfest starts at noon on Friday with the Annual Fisheree and crowning of Miss Winterfest, then Saturday activities from 9AM-5PM include food and refreshments, Vintage Snowmobile Show, helicopter rides (weather permitting), Hovercraft display & demonstration, camel rides & Petting Zoo, volleyball tournament, Great Soup Contest, volleyball tournaments, raffle(drawing at 4PM Saturday), Karaoke entertainment, carriage rides, medallion hunt, ice carving and ice bowling, ice golf, and Games for Young & Old. Wisconsin High School Nordic Ski Championships |

February 8th thru 10th, 2008 Minocqua
In 1981 the very first Wisconsin High School Nordic Ski Championships were held in Minocqua. Now, in their 27th year, the Championships have returned to their birthplace. Over 400 high school athletes will be in competition. Though some trails will be designated for racing, recreational skiers will have many kilometers of trail available. Races begin at 10AM on Saturday and run through 4PM and Sunday from 9AM to 1PM bring the whole family out to cheer on the high school teams! Wisconsin Public Television Garden Expo |

February 8th thru 10th, 2008 Madison
The 15th annual Garden Expo event hours are: 4-9PM Friday, Feb. 8; 8 AM-6PM Saturday, Feb. 9; and 10AM-4PM Sunday, Feb. 10. Wisconsin Public Television, Friends of WHA-TV and UW-Extension-Cooperative Extension Horticulture Team host the event. Garden Expo offers educational seminars and demonstrations, hands-on workshops, an exhibitor mall with a central garden display and appearances by Shelley Ryan host of WPT's The Wisconsin Gardener series. Admission does not include a parking fee. 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way.

31st La Crosse Area Boat, Sport, and Travel Show |

One the largest boat, sports and travel shows in the state, bringing in the newest and biggest camper, boat, and resort vendors from all over the area. "We have a lot of comedy-the Bass Meister- the Legends on the main stage every day, which does a comedy rock and roll and we have the desert display. We have animals from the desert. The La Crosse Loggers are here with their speed pitch," says Mike Murphy, the Floor Manager. Starts Thursday at 5PM. La Crosse Center, 300 Harborview Plaza.

Fish Creek will host a weekend of fun and frivolity. Winter Fest activities will feature something to delight every age. From spitting a cherry pit to sampling chili or an evening of rock & roll, the weekend's activities will include food, music and games for the whole family throughout the village. Kites Over the Bay will paint the sky with a rainbow of color, Peninsula Art School will serve up homemade soup in handcrafted pottery bowls, the Door Community Audtiorium will host the 4th Annual Door County Idol..

3rd Annual US Adult Pond Hockey Championship |

February 15th thru 17th, 2008 Eagle River
Pond Hockey is alive and well and living in the Wisconsin north woods. This unique championship will feature over 100 teams, 18 rinks, 3,000 pucks, 9 divisions and 1 frozen pond. Players gather to play hockey the way it was meant to be played - on the frozen pond. "We strive for quality hockey and a great social experience on and off the ice – that’s what it is all about." said Ashley Bevan, Director of Adult Hockey. Sanctioned by USA Hockey and sponsored by Labatt Blue. Great family fun. Concession stand and heated tented area. Free admission. Chanticleer Inn, 1458 East Dollar Lake Road.

Mid-Continent Railway Snow Train |

Mid-Continent's oldest special event. Wintertime railroading is a unique experience one will never forget. Travel through the winter wonderland of the scenic Baraboo Hills on our 33rd annual Snow Train. All cars are kept comfortably warm using the 100-yr-old tradition of steam heating. 50-minute ride offering both coach and first class service during the day; dinner service Friday and Saturday evening at 6:30. Book Across the Bay Cross-Country Ski Race |

February 16th, 2008 Ashland
Book Across the Bay is the upper Midwest's most unique winter event, open to skiers and snowshoers of all ages and ability levels. The 10-kilometer course, which is groomed for both classic-style and skate skiing, starts in Ashland and ends in Washburn, and follows a route not on land, but over the frozen surface of Lake Superior, the world's largest lake. The event is held at night, and the course is lit by the stars above and up to 1,000 candles in ice luminaries that line the entire route. Event starts at 6:00PM.
