Between Fences
We live between fences. They are dominant features in our lives & history, standing for security, enclosing our houses and neighborhoods but fences are more than functional objects. They are powerful symbols. The way we define ourselves as individuals and as a nation becomes concrete in how we build fences. Examine these boundaries we build through this Smithsonian exhibit.
A Bald Eagle's View
A Bald Eagle's View: Look at barriers, boundaries and fences through the eyes of a bald eagle in this interactive exhibit.
Inside the Fence
This photo exhibit interprets the human and natural history of the portion of the Sauk Prairie where the Badger Army Ammunition Plant (BAAP) is now located. The work of Zane Williams, Jill Metcoff, Greg Conniff, Jamie Young, Paula Bunch, David Heberlein and Andy Kraushaar are featured. This exhibit is at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant and is part of the rare guided bus tours March 15, 22 and 29. It is also open to the public Monday-Thursday, February 25-April 3 from 10AM to 4PM in Building 207.
