24th Annual Santa Scamper |
|
November 20th, 2007 Appleton
The scamper, a 1-mile run along College Avenue in advance of the annual Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade, has been a tradition for 20 years. It raises money and food donations for the St. Joseph Food Program. Participants, many of whom dress up in creative costumes, used to get a Santa Scamper hat when they registered. That fell by the wayside, but the event sponsor, Wells Fargo Bank, is bringing the hats back this year. All registered participants - you have until 5PM Tuesday to register - will receive a hat while supplies last. Wells Fargo Bank, 118 S. State St.

11th Annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade |
|
November 22nd, 2007 Jacksonport
This tongue-in-cheek turkey-day parade first started in 1997 and has grown a bit each year. It's a fun family event that goes through the heart of Jacksonport - up one side of the street and down the other. The road doesn't close, so if you just happen to be driving through town at the right time you might find yourself in an impromptu float waving at folks watching the parade! No candy necessary, just a good parade wave and a smile. New floats are always welcome - just show up at the Jacksonport Fire Station about 11:30AM and you're in!
