40th Annual Wo-Zah-Wa Festival

Wo Zha Wa Festival

September 14th thru 16th, 2007 Wisconsin Dells
A festive celebration of autumn, Wo-Zha-Wa Days is filled with free family activities, including an arts and crafts fair, antique flea market, Maxwell Street Days, live entertainment and a 100-unit parade. Visitors are also invited to participate in a street carnival with refreshment concessions and the Wo-Zha-Wa Run (Half marathon and 4 mi. races at 8:00 AM from Wisconsin Dells High School). All activities take place throughout downtown Wisconsin Dells and Bowman Park.

 

25th Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

Since 1983, the race has grown from a field of 27 adventurers to 2500 mountain bikers. On Friday, warm-up on area trails, pasta feast, product displays, and award presentations. Saturday is race day. The Chequamegon 40 is a 40-mile with 1,700 participants, and the Short and Fat is a 16-mile (both mass start). Saturday, kids can ride in the decorated bicycle parades in both Hayward and Cable. Bike decorations will be provided. Prizes, surprises and treats for all involved. Sunday the 16th kids can ride in the Bicycle Rodeo at Telemark Resort from 10AM to 1PM. The parade and rodeo are free and open to all children under 12. Helmets required.

Enjoy this living history exhibit of life in 1814 Prairie du Chien during the British years for students, Scouts, & Families. Over 20 historic stations. Exhibits include: American Camp, candle making, bowl carving, lead pouring, cannon firing, French fur trading and more. Friday School Program, 8:30AM-4:30PM, Saturday - Family & Scout Day, 8:30-4PM. Saturday evening program at 7PM. Fort Crawford Museum is operated by the non-profit Prairie du Chien Historical Society. Fort Crawford Museum, 717 South Beaumont Road, Prairie du Chien.

Clydefest 2007 - an afternoon of home-grown music & fun

The Town of Clyde presents an afternoon of music, food, and socializing at its first annual "ClydeFest", from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the Clyde Community Center on State Highway 130, south of Lone Rock. Lawn chairs and/or blankets are very much encouraged. Two food stands will be available at the event. Also, booths will be available for Clyde area vendors. The products and services offered are as wide ranging as the music: perennial plants, landscape design, arts, crafts, alternative energy products, organic fruit, and homegrown vegetables. Free to the public.

This intimate beer sampling features 25 craft brewers serving 75 different beers. Live music by THE KISSERS, an Irish rock band. Food served by area restaurants. To ensure the event is not only fun, but safe, a Safe Ride Home program is sponsored by State Farm Insurance and Paladine Limo Services. Green Bay - Legends On Parade

First annual parade, honoring legends of Green Bay Packers football and their fans, starting and ending at the Tundra Lodge (Lombardi at Ashland Ave.), and will kick-off the NFL Alumni-Green Bay Chapter homecoming weekend. Legends to be featured include Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jerry Kramer, Max McGee, Fuzzy Thurston and others. There will be bands, cheerleaders from all eras of Packers history, the Green and Gold gang, themed floats and other unique entries. Four new monuments in the Oneida Nation Walk of Legends, on the parade route, will be unveiled the same day. Stadium District east of Lambeau Field. 4:00PM to 5:00PM.

20th Annual Salmo Hodag Muskie Challenge

Don't miss the chance to be part of the 20th Annual Salmo Hodag Muskie Challenge, one of northern Wisconsin's premier muskie tournaments. This catch-and-release tournament sponsored by the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and Salmo Lures attracts top anglers from around the world. Prizes are awarded on a point system of 30 points for each legal muskie caught plus one point for each 1/4 inch over legal size. Prizes are based on total points accumulated during the two days of fishing, which occurs on five area lake groups. Top prize is $20,000 with payouts up to 10th place. Headquarters are at the Taj Bar and Grill located at 1540 Pueblo Drive.
