The state's largest, most historic annual event blends Wisconsin agricultural traditions with the excitement of a contemporary, urban event. International Bazaar, amusement park thrill rides, blue ribbon livestock, 28 stages of top-name entertainment, and world-famous cream puffs entice fairgoers of all ages. Gates are open from 8AM to 11PM with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays when the Fair Park is open until 12AM. Midway is open from 10AM to 11PM daily. On Closing Day, Sunday, August 12, the Fair Park will
close at 9PM. 8100 West Greenfield Avenue.

Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau

The second largest county fair in Wisconsin is held at Marathon Park in Wausau. See big name grandstand entertainment("Weird Al" Yankovic, Ted Nugent, Gin Blossoms, Lonestar, Heartland, The Wreckers), Horse Show & Judging, Ag Adventure Tent & Petting Zoo, Dog Obedience Trials, carnival rides, animals, youth projects, an antique farm machinery museum and more. Scandinavian Festival - Washington Island |

Washington Island, settled in great part by Norwegians, Danes, and Swedes, celebrates its ancestry with this festival. Friday: At 4PM Fest Kaffee held at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Saturday: 8PM Scandinavian Dance with 100 dancers in Scandinavian costume at the outdoor stage by the Community Center. Stavkirke open house at Trinity Lutheran Church, also on Friday. Saturday: Scandinavian Dance Fest on the Foss Stage in Foss Square. On Sunday enjoy a Scandinavian worship service. Community Center & Various locations.

National Mustard Day

Have you ever had too much fun? It may happen if you attend the National Mustard Day celebration! It will officially kick off at 10AM with Curator Barry Levenson and the POUPON U Accordian Band performing "Roll Out the Mustard". On the Grey Poupon Stage the Curator will be introducing the new game show sensation: MUSTARD OR NO MUSTARD. Festival goers will be invited to compete and win prizes. Also on stage will be the interactive Rock-n-Roll kids show "Kids are People Too!" It is a fun-filled day for the whole family and has traditionally included "free" Oscar Mayer hot dogs as well as music, games, other entertainment, mustard samples, and more. Mount Horeb Mustard Museum, 100 block of Main Street.

Genoa National Fish Hatchery 75th Anniversary |

Come join the hatchery, the Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, and other key river partners to celebrate the historic past and promising future. Featured: interpreters will tell of the last battle of the Blackhawk War, the story of the pearl button industry, and the River as a Highway(how fur traders and others used the river for commerce and transportation). Also a fish fry featuring locally-caught flathead catfish, Kids' fishing tank, Carnival booths, a working model of the Lock and Dam system, live music, and a short presentation. Help commemorate the hatchery and the Region. 3 miles south of Genoa on Highway 35..

The American Le Mans Series returns for its 5th exciting year. The August 9-12 weekend will co-feature American Le Mans on Saturday, and the Champ Car World Series on Sunday. In addition, three support races; including Champ Car Atlantic, Star Mazda and Formula BMW. Also, four classes of machines, with two drivers for each car, compete head-to-head. Support series include Formula BMW, IMSA GT3, Skip Barber, Speed World Challenge GT & Touring, and Star Mazda. N7390 State Road 67.

Wisconsin Concrete Park Celebration

Honoring the folk art of Fred Smith, who constructed the park's more than 200 concrete statues. In 1948, at age 63, Price County native Fred Smith began construction of what is known today as Wisconsin Concrete Park. Smith, a lumberjack, tavern owner, farmer, and dance hall musician, created over 200 figures depicting his vision of the local culture and the world. His work is considered one of America's most unique displays of folk art. Tours of the park, music, kids entertainment and fun for the whole family.

Leopold Family Farm & Shack Tour

The Aldo Leopold Legacy Center will be open to the public for guided and self-guided tours. Every tour includes the history and philosophy of Aldo Leopold, a visit to the Shack, and a walk through restored prairie and woods. The tour route follows rustic trails which may have occasional obstacles such as tree stumps, exposed roots, or downed branches. Tours are offered from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00PM; reservations required for groups of 10 or more.
