As you arrive, the number of people, size of the site and the rows and rows of magnificent aircraft are simply overwhelming. If you were to walk past ... not down ... each row of airplanes, you would cover 5.2 miles! EAA's 55th annual fly-in convention will bring more than 10,000 airplanes to the Oshkosh area to participate in the event. Typically about 2,500 show aircraft participate at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, including homebuilts, antiques, classics, warbirds, ultralights and rotorcraft.

Lumberjack World Championships

The people of Hayward embrace their rich history each summer with hundreds of volunteers and community support making this a world class event for thousands of visitors. The Lumberjack World Championships® showcase over 21 events competing for world records in events ranging from men's and women's logrolling, to chopping, to the exciting pole climb. Over 100 plus competitors vie for more than $50,000 in prize money, making this the largest payback for lumberjack competition in the world. At the Lumberjack Bowl.

Bayfield's 45th Annual Festival of Arts |

July 28 & 29, 2007 Bayfield
Over 100 artists from 9 states will gather for one of Wisconsin's largest art shows on Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-5PM. This annual juried arts & crafts show is held in Memorial Park on the shores of Lake Superior in downtown Bayfield. In addition, Bayfield artists will open their studios and galleries to visitors with open houses, demonstrations, and special sales as part of a gallery tour held in conjunction with the festival. Visitors will find a wide selection of pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpture, and glass among Bayfield's studios, and the opportunity to view the artists at work.

Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau

The second largest county fair in Wisconsin is held at Marathon Park in Wausau. Leopold Family Farm & Shack Tour

The Aldo Leopold Legacy Center will be open to the public for guided and self-guided tours. Every tour includes the history and philosophy of Aldo Leopold, a visit to the Shack, and a walk through restored prairie and woods. The tour route follows rustic trails which may have occasional obstacles such as tree stumps, exposed roots, or downed branches. Tours are offered from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00PM; reservations required for groups of 10 or more.

Wisconsin Concrete Park Celebration

Honoring the folk art of Fred Smith, who constructed the park's more than 200 concrete statues. In 1948, at age 63, Price County native Fred Smith began construction of what is known today as Wisconsin Concrete Park. Smith, a lumberjack, tavern owner, farmer, and dance hall musician, created over 200 figures depicting his vision of the local culture and the world. His work is considered one of America's most unique displays of folk art. Tours of the park, music, kids entertainment and fun for the whole family.
